THE BIRTH OF ART DECO STYLE
Art Deco, originating from France, takes its name from the abbreviation of the International Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts exhibition; After the 1920s, it became the trend especially seen in architecture, the new style was designed by the French government to emphasize the modern.
Many ideas of the international avant-garde in the field of architecture and applied arts were presented for the first time at this fair. 15.000 exhibitors from 20 different countries were provided to the fair and it was visited with interest by 16 million people during its seven months of operation. After the 1930s, it ended with the architects’ desire to separate architecture from ornaments and their defense of functionality, not ornamentation; but in the 1960s it started to be respected again.
HOW TO CREATE ART DECO STYLE?
Art Deco style; It is a trend based on industry rather than manual labor. It is created taking into account the principle of functionality and using more geometric patterns. The colors used in art deco designs are created from more attractive and assertive color charts. In addition, special attention is paid to expensive ornaments in the furniture and decoration elements used in art deco design. Art Deco designs, which include natural forms as well as geometric shapes, are integrated with the floor and wall, blended and designed with various fixtures, and it is possible to see luxury and splendor together. Although the designs are very similar to each other with the influence of many trends, they are extremely flamboyant and functional designs that give people freedom in their living spaces.
